About these terms
This website is operated by Jordan Nicholls, using the Formulated Haus brand. These terms describe permitted use of our public website, free tools, downloads and demonstrations. Contact us at Jordan Nicholls with questions.
We make these terms available so you can review them before using our tools and resources. Please use the website consistently with these terms and any clear, tool-specific instructions.
Website information and paid projects
The website introduces our work and possible services, which may include websites, internal portals, hosting and optional automation or AI features. A description or demonstration is not a promise that every feature is currently available or included in a project.
Sending an enquiry does not order a service or create a paid engagement. Paid work is governed by a separate signed scope or agreement that sets out the agreed deliverables and commercial terms. These Website Terms do not set prices, payment schedules, refund or cancellation terms, ownership of client deliverables, hosting commitments or support obligations for that work.
Free tools and resources
Our free tools and templates are intended to help with everyday tasks. You may use them for your own personal or business activities, subject to these terms and any clearly identified third-party licence.
Check inputs and results before relying on them. For example:
- Mileage and budget calculations depend on the figures and assumptions entered. They do not determine tax deductibility, reimbursement entitlement or financial suitability.
- An invoice template does not confirm your tax registration, applicable tax rate, record-keeping obligations or the legal validity of a charge.
- Résumé tools do not guarantee interviews or employment. Review the final content for accuracy before sending it.
- Test QR codes with more than one device and at their intended printed or displayed size. Colour, contrast, logos and layout can affect scanning. Verify the destination before distributing a code.
- Save copies of important outputs. A browser tool or demonstration is not a substitute for a reliable system of record or backup.
The tools provide general assistance, not legal, tax, accounting or financial advice. Where those matters affect your decisions, check current requirements or consult a qualified professional.
Demonstrations and concepts
Anything labelled “demo,” “concept” or “sample” is illustrative. It may use fictional information, simulated actions or incomplete functionality. It should not be treated as a live client deployment, an endorsement, a completed transaction or a production system unless we expressly identify it that way.
Do not enter confidential, sensitive or real customer information into a demonstration. A sample booking, payment, account or message shown in a demo does not itself carry out that action.
Responsible use
Use the website lawfully and respect other people's rights. Do not:
- Submit information you are not entitled to share or use another person's identity deceptively.
- Upload malicious code, interfere with the website, try to gain unauthorized access, or bypass security controls.
- Use a tool to create unlawful, fraudulent or rights-infringing material.
- Present a demonstration or Formulated Haus material as your own service in a way that misleads others.
You are responsible for deciding what to enter, reviewing your outputs and choosing where to save, publish or share them. Check the Privacy Policy and the notice beside a tool for its actual data handling.
Content and intellectual property
We or our licensors retain the rights in the website's design, branding, text, code and other original materials. We permit you to view the website and use the tools and downloadable resources for their stated purposes, including ordinary personal and business use. This permission does not let you redistribute or sell the tools, site code or unmodified template library as a competing product, or use our branding in a way that suggests our endorsement, unless a separate licence permits it.
You retain the rights you already hold in information, text and images you provide. These terms do not transfer ownership of that material to us. You may use and share documents or other outputs you create with a tool, subject to rights in any third-party content you include. We do not promise that an output is unique, free of third-party rights or suitable for every purpose.
Any separately identified third-party assets or software remain subject to their own licences. Ownership and licences for paid client deliverables are addressed in the separate client agreement.
Availability and external services
We aim to keep the website and tools useful, but they may contain errors, change or be temporarily unavailable. Features can depend on your browser, device or third-party services. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every system or a particular result from using a free tool.
Links and integrations may lead to services operated by others. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them. A link alone is not an endorsement, and we do not control another operator's content or availability.
We may restrict misuse or remove a feature where reasonably needed for security, maintenance or legal reasons. This does not change any obligations in a separate paid-services agreement.
Responsibility and your legal rights
Please take reasonable care when using tools and acting on their outputs. We also remain responsible for our conduct to the extent required by applicable law. The nature of these free resources and any stated limitations are relevant to what can reasonably be expected of them.
Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility for fraud or wilful misconduct, or excludes or limits any guarantee, remedy or liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit. Your mandatory consumer and privacy rights are preserved. These terms do not require you to waive access to a court, join mandatory arbitration or give up a right to bring a claim that the law protects.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, subject to any mandatory protections that apply where you live. This does not deprive you of a right to bring a claim in a court available to you under applicable law.
We may update these terms for future use of the website and will show the updated effective date. Changes do not retroactively alter a separate signed client agreement or remove accrued legal rights.
